The Camtech E-Commerce Payment Gateway is a hardware and software package that allows businesses to communicate with any bank around the world in order to process credit card payments.

The link into the banking network is a dedicated private connection that is inaccessible to Internet users. The Payment Gateway also uses enhanced security features such as digital envelopes and content keys (1024 Bit RSA/IDEA).

The Camtech-E-Commerce Payment Gateway accepts credit card details from the Camtech E-Commerce Merchant Server, converts them to the Australian Banking Standard 2805F (ISO 8583) and forwards them to the bank for processing

Once the transaction has been approved by the bank, details are sent back to the Camtech E-Commerce Payment Gateway, which logs the transaction and sends it back to the Camtech E-Commerce Merchant server.

E-Commerce Merchant Server

The Camtech E-Commerce Merchant Server is a software package that is installed on to the merchant's web server and used in conjunction with a shopping cart application or web form that records a consumer's purchase and personal details.

The main function of the Camtech E-Commerce Merchant Server is to provide an encrypted connection between the merchant's web server and the Camtech E-Commerce Payment Gateway.

The Merchant Server receives transaction details from a virtual shopping product via an interface provided by the merchant (such as a simple API, CGI, or Perl script).

The transaction details are encrypted and sent to the Camtech E-Commerce Payment Gateway for processing.

Once the transaction has been approved, an encrypted response consisting of the transaction details and bank authorisation code are sent back to the Camtech E-Commerce Merchant Server

The Merchant Server deciphers this message and forwards the transaction details to the virtual shopping product.

This entire process is typically completed within 6 to 15 seconds, making it the fastest real time Internet payment processing service in Australia.
